Love Lives Here

Silverado, USA

Love Lives Here explores how memory care provider Silverado gives life to residents by embracing a core operating philosophy of love.

Silverado recognizes the value of the human spirit and demonstrates that memory impairment does not mean the end of a purposeful, rich life. By reducing medications and focusing on a more holistic approach to care, residents can thrive, while maintaining their sense of self and dignity. Life can change, but life doesn’t stop when you move into Silverado.

This film was shot at four different Silverado communities in Southern California. To create one community like this is an achievement, but for Silverado to instill and nurture this culture of love across their 30+ memory care communities throughout the United States, is truly something remarkable.

Love Lives Here is part of a series of films by Australian filmmaker Corinne Maunder and American photographer and sociologist Dr Cathy Greenblat that presents outstanding examples of love and joy in dementia care. Other films in the series include Finding the Why (Starrett Lodge, Uniting) and It Takes a Community (Arcare).
